A Course in Miracles:  Lesson 297

“Forgiveness is the only gift I want.”

“Forgiveness is the only gift I give because it is the only gift I want.”  My knowing the truth of this lesson is an event.  It is not something I understand and then nothing happens.  It changes everything I experience.

“When I know I am the one who is allowed to forgive, who is able to forgive, who is able to transform her history through a new idea, then I will say, “I can be free,” and I will lift my consciousness above the wall that has created the separation in which I exist.” –Paul Selig.

I am allowed to grow and change.  I am allowed to know I am forgiven.  When I know I am forgiven, I am free to awaken to my own accountability.   Knowing my accountability without fear or guilt, I become aware of what I did not know before.  And as I become aware of what I did not know before, doors open and the path to Love widens.

Everything I give, I give to myself.  Every experience I have is my choice.  When I know my own self worth through my choice, I cease to perceive the world as one big sacrifice.  When I know my own self worth I am free to accept forgiveness for myself for not knowing I am always in choice.  We are all entitled to forgiveness and there are no exceptions.  We are all waking up to the fact that we are always in choice.

Forgiveness is not forced love.  But it requires knowing my self worth is not based on your lack of peace or my momentary forgetting.  In knowing this, I can offer peace to the one who does not know.  My offering can be in person, or via thought.  The one to whom I send peace will receive it as surely as I do in the sending.

Forgiveness is the only gift worth having in this world.  When I know I am the one who is allowed to receive it and give it back in endless variation, then I have transformed my self.  I cannot have the experience of true forgiveness and then nothing happens.  Salvation’s simple formula is this:  everything I give, I give to myself.  Learn this simple lesson your alignment with Love begins in earnest.
