A Course in Miracles:  Lesson 320

“My Father gives all power unto me.”

To understand this lesson it is necessary that we understand what we truly are, what the core of our existence is - and that is Thought.  Thought is capitalized because the Thought that created us began in the Mind of God.  This is why A Course repeatedly asks us to remember:  “I am not a body.  I am free.  I am still as God created me.”

So what is this power Source has given us?  Like the power of Thought, it is unlimited, unbound, and unrestricted.  It is the power of Source Itself because Source created us like Itself, without condition.  Furthermore, the thoughts of Source apply equally and universally to everything and everyone in Creation Itself.  This is why the lessons of forgiveness and Oneness are critical aspects of all Knowing.  Unless I understand the truth of Oneness, I cannot know myself or use the power I have been given.  Let me say that again.  Unless I understand the truth of Oneness I cannot use the power I have been given.

Our minds are joined.   The power of our joined mind “created” this earth, this universe, and all that we perceive as “real.”  The “reality” of separate minds and separate bodies is nothing more than the illusion of thought.  There is nothing solid in this universe.  All things that appear to be of form actually contain more space than matter.  What holds matter together is the power of thought.  We call it gravitational force but the force of gravity itself is nothing more than a thought.  Do you begin to see the power of our mind?

I cannot know my own power until I recognize my Oneness with all minds and with Source.  And this is the rub.   We have imagined in our thoughts that separation could be real; that we could be limited, that we could be restricted by form, that time moves only one way or that it exists at all.  Oh yes. We have imagined it and we have believed our own thoughts.  We have imagined ourselves powerless, without recourse, subject to pain and suffering until death relieves us of our imagined burdens.  None of it is Real.  How can Thought die?

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1.

We are the Word. We were there in the beginning and we are still.  But we must take back our authority to know ourselves as Thought.  This means we must be aware of what is in our mind.  The power to create is located there and only there.

Tomorrow’s lesson is about creation.  How exactly do we create?  And why can we not create everything we want to have in this world?  Until then, know all power is given you, dear reader.  You are the one in authority to know your self as One.
